Investigative Sustainability Journalist

Emma Haworth

Bristol, UK

Former trade journalist. Now investigates what sustainability brands claim versus what they can prove.

About

Emma Haworth spent eight years as a packaging trade journalist before going independent. She left because the publications she wrote for were funded by the companies she was supposed to scrutinise -- a conflict of interest the industry prefers not to discuss. Now she investigates the gap between what sustainability brands claim and what the evidence supports. She is particularly interested in packaging certifications, carbon offset schemes, and the language companies use when they have nothing to prove. She writes The BS Files for Bhumi.
